I’ve decided to create a set of runes from the apple tree in my backyard. I’ve known it my whole life, and I feel a calming bond with it. I have asked its permission for a branch, and it has given me its consent.
However, I do know that my father trimmed it during the fall, and that we still have branches from it in a pile in our garden. I’m torn between cutting it myself, or using one from the pile. My concern is that the tree might have been unhappy with the trimming, and therefore the branches might not be viable. I dunno, I just feel that I’d be upset if someone cut off my branches without asking me first.
What should I do - cut a branch myself, or use one of the already cut branches?
